See You at General Assembly!

Have you never been to a General Assembly?  Are you unsure about what to expect?  The following testimony was written by former YAC member Mayon Marcelino:

My first experience as a young adult at General Assembly was in 2007 in Fort Worth, Texas. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I travelled to Texas with my friend Andrew. This was my first time meeting other young adult Disciples outside my home church and quickly became friends with many of them.
I felt at ease sharing my experiences and taking part in workshops where interaction was key. In addition to worshipping together, and listening to keynote speakers, as young adults, we also had activities at night where fellowship took place.

I had such a great time meeting fellow disciples and was so appreciative of the work of the Young Adult Commission in coordinating the events, that I decided to apply and be a part of the Young Adult Commission. The next three years I took part planning events for the next General Assembly in 2009 in addition to our first ever Young Adult Conference, which was held in October of 2010 in Las Vegas.

I can’t wait to attend the General Assembly in Nashville this July and I’m eager to meet some old friends and make new ones as well.

Sincerely,

Mayon Marcelino
